ABOUT DAVID

David Wheeler is a professional photographer from England who has been taking photographs for over 15 years.  Based on the south coast of England, his love for photography started through capturing landscapes and cityscapes.  David has explored many parts of the globe, capturing various locations and cultures and has had work published in magazines, websites, galleries, exhibitions and in the BBC's Children in Need calendar. 

David’s photography interests started from a young age, following in his father’s footsteps.  At College, he worked predominantly with film, learning the fundamentals to techniques used both in-camera and in the darkroom.  Following numerous trips around the globe and having first hand experience of the simplicity and ease of digital photography, he moved away from film.  

Travel photography is his most practiced discipline but within the last 5 years he has moved into wedding and portraiture photography.  His background in landscape photography has been very influential in refining his style.  David relocated to Australia from the start 2011 as a short-term opportunity to capture new subjects, he has now returned to the UK following an adventurous 4 months down under.  David cannot think of a better way of spending his time,.. "taking photographs, meeting new people, exploring fresh locations and most importantly being able to provide a collection of photographs that are distinctive and special to those involved.  Seeing the pleasure when my clients receive the photos is an addictive feeling!"

David firmly believes that the photographic technique used through the camera is the most important part for any photographer, showing the true distinction between amateur and professional photographers.  Once the images have been captured, David devotes a lot of time to carefully manipulating the images to create art pieces that best depict the moment, the subject and the atmosphere of the setting.
